Drake & Nicki Minaj: Why She Refused To Accept His Invite To His Birthday Party

Drake threw the party of the year for his birthday on Oct. 23, but there’s one A-list invitee who didn’t show. Find out why Nicki Minaj skipped Drake’s bash even though he invited her!

Drake, 30, invited Nicki Minaj, 33, to his epic birthday party at Delilah in West Hollywood, but she didn’t go because her boyfriend Meek Mill, 29, was furious! “Of course Nicki got an invite to be at Drake‘s party. She wanted to attend and party with him and help him turn 30,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “But that would have caused way too much drama at home with Meek.” Uh, oh.

“Meek wasn’t having it,” the insider reveals. “He threw a huge tantrum, even threatening to end their relationship if she wanted.” An ultimatum? That is so not good!

Don’t worry — Nicki held her own. “They had a fight about it because Nicki is not the woman who you give ultimatums to,” the source explains. “In the end, though, she didn’t want to hurt Meek’s feelings — nor did she want to disrespect him by partying with Drake and being all touchy-feely with him — so she didn’t go.” Makes sense!
As we previously told you exclusively, Nicki sent Drake a sweet birthday wish despite being a no-show at his bash. Insiders tell us that Nicki told Drake “she loves him”, and added that “she can’t work to work with him again”. That would be pretty epic!
The “Anaconda” singer wasn’t present for the festivities, but Drake turned it up with pals Taylor Swift, Karlie Kloss, John Mayer, Katy Perry and more. We’re sure Nicki was missed, though!
